Latest up date! March 25, '07 - Sept 1 to 6th and 7 to 13 are fully booked for '07. Shows were awesome and I really enjoyed seeing old friends, shareing good stories and planning this years ventures. Met some new guests that I really look forward to showing and exploring our territory with this season. Terry Carlin Sr. along with his wife Diane have operated two Outfitting services since 1973 under "Kanukawa Outfitters" TM. N.A.H.C. The K/O Lodge on Sullivan Lake and the Mountain River Lodge on the Ottawa River offering superior services in the operation of complete Hunting and Fishing Lodges. Presently after managing the K/O, Terry Carlin JR. now manages the Hunting and Fishing facilities at The Mountain River Lodge. Acquired in 1988 and upgraded to deluxe private accommodation, services and outstandind resources. Along the Ottawa River and Algonquin Provincial Park Corridor near the town of Deep River Ontario we maintain the PRIVATE HUNTING Lease that draws our black bears from over a 1200 square mile area that produce enormous Boone and Crocket & Pope and Young Bruins. It is a very carefully managed territory that produces quality trophy animals year after year. Our guides and family are very knowledgeable about all the hunting opportunities in the Algonquin and Laurentian regions and engage in ethical quality game management with special attention to details that make a hunting trip more than just taking your animal. We guarantee a quality hunt in the presence of good company with stories told (Some good) in an awesome wilderness setting. We are not a booking agent! Myself, my Dad and family are all part of the experience and will work for you in all aspects of the hunt from beginning to end.
We are avid hunters ourselves and know the advantage of using other guides and outfitting services when traveling outside and sometimes inside our own county and country. We will gladly share our knowledge and see to it that you get the trophy you are after while enjoying the comforts and conversation we offer as a World Class operation. Please research our references and talk with me personally about planning an individual or group trip into our area. Our first and foremost services are for trophy Black Bear, we include Lund Bass Boats in the Package for fishing in the mornings or if you take your bear early in the week go out on the River or jump in the truck with me and help pull out bears for the other guys. If you are a Bow hunter you may even considerer a combination Bear/ Moose trip that I Run in the Laurentians in late September. Remember to Always share your stories and information on any hunts you take. All hunters appreciate hearing it from the horses mouth. The hunt means a lot of things to many people. Everyone gets something out of it. but there is one common thing that it gives to everyone... stories told on a crisp Autumn evening, stories familiar, comfortable and which last a life time. Special Late Season Hunt Package October 1st - 2 Weeks Only Small Game and Black Bear , Fishing Combination Includes; Cabin, Bass Boats, Guide Services, 3rd season opening only -your own group max 6 Sept 13th *Last one week of our season only Limit - one 2 person group package during the combo Moose Hunt for-'07 1 800 267 0737 Well we had a great 2006 fall moose hunt with a couple of big bulls and a massive cow taken out back. The Fall Bear hunt again was a great success with many Pope and Young and Boon and Crocket bruins taken It was our best success season ever on Bear and Moose as well. We are still expanding our territories both North of the Ottawa River and around the Algonquin wilderness region. 2 archery and one more rifle bull by season end - all tags filled. We had a terrific year again! Paul's 55 inch still holds the season record rack and was exceptional. This hunt for 2007 will be Bulls only and I look forward to it like opening day Deer. We have been exploring our Quebec territory for Five years now and have been successful every year with archery during the rut towards the end of September. 2007 Moose season is booked, please refer All inquiries now for 2008 Our early pre rut archery season for Moose went great with the weather a little warm to start but cooled nicely. Roger and I scored a big Bull and a cow on this side of the river and had to pass up two more 40 and 60 inch racks at the end of the hunt as we only had calf tags left.
A very successful Fall Bear hunt and few new uploads of the Spring Hunt Week One - May 15 - 8 Bears taken for 8 Hunters, Week Two - May 20th - 5 taken for 8 hunters, all seen. Spring Bear will be booked for later May this season and run through the Mountain River Lodge with Terry.
