May's "Black Fly Bash" - Every weekend starting May 12th will be our opening month kick off with special packages for week and weekend getaways. Off the bass Season rates entitles everyone at Mountain River 20% discount on all lodging packages.  June Savings!

Last two weekends in May will be a Black Fly Fishing Bash!  Northern Pike and Walleye fishing will be at their peak.  Along all the incoming river mouths and the shallow back bays will be your best bet for the Pike.  The big spinners with # 5 willow leaf blades moving quick and erratic should bring up the best results. The walleyes are easily fooled by 3 inch soft plastics.  Work the drop offs with the brighter colored tails with 1/4 oz jigs slowly and right on the bottom.
